01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
In a residential neighbourhood of Omori-minami, Ota City, Toki is the kind of local Chinese-style restaurant to arrive at with a healthy appetite. The menu ranges from noodles and rice dishes to individual plates, but the generous servings of fried rice and noodles are what first catch the eye. Even a regular portion is generous. Fragrant from the wok, the fried rice makes a satisfying meal without any fuss.
Fried rice with plenty of toppings, and hearty thick noodles
Among the fried rice options, the popular gomoku fried rice is especially colourful: finely sliced fish cake and ham are scattered through it, with crab on top. The noodle dishes pair a rich broth with thick, chewy noodles. Options range from simple ramen to tanmen, a noodle soup generously topped with vegetables, and chashu ramen. The tender, flavourful chashu pork is good with noodles, and can also be enjoyed in a chashu rice bowl.
Mix and match half portions
The menu also offers plenty of half-size options, including half portions of gyoza, fried rice and fried chicken. Their crisp, browned gyoza and fried chicken with a crunchy coating make easy additions to a main dish. With counter and table seating, the restaurant is convenient for solo diners. Its relaxed feel suits everything from lunch to an evening set meal or a beer with a few dishes. Payment is cash only, so it is best to come prepared.
